Built to Heal. Digitally Designed to Scale.

The Challenge

Dr. Jamila T. Davis had the story, the strategy, and the receipts. A self-made millionaire by 25, her life took a sharp turn when she was sentenced to 12.5 years in federal prison. But even behind bars, she turned adversity into purpose, earning her Ph.D. and developing The Voices of Consequences Enrichment Series, a healing-centered curriculum that the Bureau of Prisons would later adopt under the First Step Act.

Post-release, she emerged as a social entrepreneur, speaker, and founder of movements like VIP School Empowerment Coalition and Black Women’s Lives Matter, with coverage in BET, Forbes, CBS, and The New York Times.

Her work was changing lives, but her delivery was limited. Her programs were being shared through Zoom, PDFs, and eBooks. And as demand grew, two big questions surfaced:

  • How do you scale a high-touch, heart-forward curriculum without losing its power?

  • How do you create a digital experience that still feels personal, transformative, and culturally grounded?

The answer? You don’t just upload files.
You build a full experience.

The Approach

  • Dr. Davis brought the voice and vision. I brought the strategy, design systems, and digital clarity to make it scalable without sacrificing soul.

Together, we co-created a digital transformation rooted in equity, empowerment, and ease of use. My role included:

Designing the online learning portal, with branded theming and intentional UX

Creating all interactive tools, including pre- and post-assessments

Redesigning 200+ workbook pages to be clean, modern, and built for engagement

Developing the instructor’s guide to support facilitators with structure and flexibility

Introducing “Growth Work” (instead of “homework”) to reframe accountability as a journey, not a task

The goal? Make the experience as impactful online as it was in-person—and build it to grow with her team.

  • Manifest It Now (Pilot)

Instructional Design | Workbook Design | Digital Course Strategy.
Imagine being in a prison cell and sketching out a blueprint for your lifea life you’ll live once you’re free. That’s exactly what Jamila did, and she made every part of that blueprint a reality. Manifest It Now is her guide to help others do the same. I transformed it into a digital course, redesigned the workbook, and created interactive tools that turn intention into action with clarity and confidence.

The Impact

What began as a set of static tools is now a living, evolving digital experience—purpose-built for scalability, accessibility, and emotional impact.

  • Dr. Davis’s team now works from a solid foundation of branded templates and systems.

  • Her workbooks, guides, and digital portal are now interactive, accessible, and aligned with her message.

  • Participants engage more deeply with tools that feel made for them, not just repackage.d

And for me? This was legacy work.
Helping bring her curriculum into formats that reach further—without watering down the depth—was a full-circle moment.

This is what we do at Kenekts.
We make soul scalable.
We make healing digital.
We turn movement into method.

Why It Matters

This wasn’t just about design. It was about dignity.
It was about making sure that formerly incarcerated women, facilitators, and community educators had tools that matched the weight of their stories and the power of their healing.

At Kenekts, we don’t just digitize—we humanize.
We turn workbooks into windows.
We turn content into catalysts.
We design with reverence, so movements can scale without selling their soul.
